The 2024 season is the 13th year that John Hummel has been the Head Coach of the Glenwood Middle School Baseball team. During his time as Head coach, the Titans are 151-59-1 with 10 Regional Titles, 6 Sectional Titles and 4 finishes at the IESA state tournament, including the undefeated 3A State Championship season of 2017 and the 2023 3A State Championship Team. Coach Hummel has been a World History teacher at Glenwood Middle School since 2014. Coach Hummel has  undergraduate degrees in History and Secondary Education and a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Augustana. Coach Hummel was an All-State baseball player at Schaumburg High School and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 16th round of the 2002 Amatuer Baseball Draft. John and his wife Emily have been married since 2006 and have three children. Ashton is 14 (9th grade), Cameron is 13 (7th grade) and Jillian is 8 (3rd grade).
